ABOUT THE DESIGN OF STARBUCKS CEBU ICON MUG

Starbucks Philippines released Starbucks Cebu Icon Mug featuring Cebu Guitar. Cebu guitars are famous because of their world-class quality, durability and relatively cheap price. The Province of Cebu has a long history of guitar-making because its a traditional industry. Most of the guitar manufacturers are family-owned shops passed from one generation to another. Cebu-made guitars are popular with tourists, who buy them as gifts or pasalubong, when they go back to their own places of origin.  The center of the guitar-making industry in Cebu is in Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan Island.

The Starbucks Cebu Icon Mug Series is part of the 2008 Starbucks collection.  The Starbucks Cebu icon mug as well as all Starbucks Icon mugs in the Philippines are manufactured in China.

ABOUT CEBU

Cebu is a province consisting of Cebu Island and 167 surrounding islands and islets.  Cebu is has a long and narrow island stretching 225 kilometers from north to south, surrounded by neighboring smaller islands, which include Mactan, Bantayan, Malapascua, Olango and the Camotes Islands. Cebu has narrow coastlines, limestone plateaus and coastal plains. It also has rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges traversing the northern and southern lengths of the island.  Its capital is Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines, which forms part of the Cebu Metropolitan Area together with four neighboring cities which include Danao City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City and Talisay City and eight other municipalities. Cebu city is dubbed as the “Queen City of the South.”
