ABOUT THE DESIGN OF STARBUCKS INDIA ICON MUG
Starbucks India released Starbucks India Icon Mug featuring the India Gate which is the national monument of India.
Formerly known as the All India War Memorial, this landmark is inspired by the Arc De Triomphe in Paris was erected to commemorate the death of 90,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting the Indian Empire
or the British Taj during World War 1 and the 3rd Anglo-Afghan War. The India Gate is made of red and pale sandstone was built in 1931.
The other side of Starbucks India icon mug features the national sports of India. Hockey, in which India has an impressive record with eight Olympic gold medals, is a favorite game in the country. India reigned supreme in hockey from 1928 – 1956 when the national team won 6 consecutive gold medals in the Olympics. During these years, India played 24 Olympic matches, won all 24, scored 178 goals and conceded only 7 goals. The two other gold medals for India came in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
